You and Your Cafe Church

“Welcome Home”, is a scheme designed to make newcomers to the neighbourhood feel welcome the day they move into their new house. The idea is that someone volunteers to keep an eye open along their
street for when a new family or individual moves into a
house; Cottage Beck Café Church will supply a Welcome Pack which, if possible, someone will deliver the day of the move.
The Welcome Pack will consist of information about the locality, details of doctors, dentists, buses, newsagents etc; also, such things as a Welcome Home door mat, vouchers for a free meal for the family on their first day, and other free gifts as local shops feel moved to donate. If you are interested in this scheme, want to help, would be a volunteer for your street, or just have any comments or opinions about this, we’d be glad to hear from you.

Already local people are volunteering their time to do things for others someone opens up on Thursday nights to provide a place for young people to go; and as you will see in our news link, two solicitors have volunteered their time to help with legal advice. There are so many other things we could be doing for each other- as many ideas as there are people and skills in this locality. If you have ANY suggestions, let us know. Come in and talk to us when the café is open or
